The Roman Tarot

The Roman Tarot was created first as oil on panel paintings, (for the major arcana, face cards and aces) then digitized and prepared for print.  The final deck is comprised of the 22 major and 56 minor arcana cards with minor deviations from the traditional naming conventions, as outlined in the accompanying booklet.  It is my passion for Roman history that led me to present the deck with a reverent nod to the classical Roman aesthetic.  This is reflected in the styles of dress, particulars of culturally relevant symbolism and using portraits of famous Romans as the “face” cards of the minor arcana. Each of the 2-10 cards within the suits are unique digital illustrations that help to describe the meaning of each card,   not merely “pip” cards.
